Story Ventures makes concentrated early-stage investments in US founders building on technology and data to change how people interact with the world, across fintech, healthcare, business services, security and AI. It typically writes checks of $1M to $3M at seed and Series A and is willing to put a large share of a fund into a single high-conviction company.
Manager's Experience
Managing Partner Jake Yormak is a University of Pennsylvania and NYU Law graduate who practised as a big-law attorney before co-founding Story Ventures in 2016. He runs a concentrated strategy of about 12 core companies per fund, with more than half the capital going to a handful of outliers. His brother and co-founder Brian Yormak, also a Penn graduate, was an analyst at mobility investor Fontinalis Partners and leads Story's mobility and data-asset investing.
