Manager's Experience

Founded in 2017 in Toronto and led by Co-Founder and Managing Partner Jordan Jacobs (JD from Osgoode Hall, co-founded Layer 6 AI and was co-CEO until TD Bank Group acquired it, then TD's Chief AI Officer for Business and Strategy) and Co-founder and Partner Tomi Poutanen (MSc in computer engineering and MBA from the University of Toronto, co-founded Layer 6, earlier worked on machine learning for web search at Yahoo and Bing). The team includes Partners Sanjana Basu, David Katz, Rich Kotite, Richa Mehta, Daniel Mulet, Parasvil Patel, Aaron Rosenberg, Vin Sachidananda, Ryan Shannon, Rob Toews, and Molly Welch, with John Megrue as Vice Chair and Dr. Fei-Fei Li as Scientific Partner. A $650M early-stage fund closed in October 2025, the firm's sixth fund overall, after an $800M growth fund. About 80 portfolio companies, including Cohere, Waabi, Xanadu, Etched, Crusoe, World Labs, Writer, You.com, Latent Labs, and Aspect Biosystems.
