The team brings deep experience in transatlantic deep tech investing, focused on commercializing hard tech innovations from research institutions in the American Southwest (Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia, University of New Mexico) and Northwestern Europe. Cottonwood has invested in 40+ hard tech companies across advanced materials, photonics, robotics, energy, and manufacturing. Portfolio includes Lightscape Materials, Optonic, EFFECT Photonics, Rhinehart Development, and IS-Instruments.
