Brighteye Ventures is a Paris-based venture capital firm focused exclusively on education technology. It invests across Europe in companies transforming how people learn at every stage of life, from classroom to career. It is among the few European funds dedicated solely to the sector.
Brighteye Ventures is Europe's most active dedicated edtech investor, working on the thesis that learning technology spans schools, universities, workplace training and consumer upskilling, and that the category needs an investor who understands all four buyers. It invests seed through Series B across Europe in learning, skills and future-of-work companies.
Founded in 2017 and based in Paris and London, Europe's first and largest dedicated edtech fund. Partners Alex Latsis and Benoit Wirz have been building and investing in European and North American edtech for over a decade, operating through Brighteye Advisors as sole adviser to the fund. Fund I was followed by a €46M first close on Fund II in 2020, completing at €100M in 2023; AUM is around €112M across two funds with 46 to 71 investments and five exits. Epic! exited at $500m in 2021. Team of nine including a Head of Research, Head of Community and Designer in Residence. Writes cheques up to roughly €4.2m at seed and Series A.
