Manager's Experience
Founded in 2016 by Swiss serial entrepreneur Roger Lienhard, Blue Horizon pioneered institutional alternative protein investing through nearly 100 investments across alt meat, dairy, and seafood since 2018. CEO Björn Witte brings strategy consulting experience from Roland Berger, while Managing Partner Michel Hirschi previously served as CFO of Meyer Burger. The team built early positions in landmark alt-protein companies including Beyond Meat, Impossible Foods, and Mosa Meat. Following a 2024 restructuring that transferred Fund I's portfolio to Collateral Good, the Blue Horizon Corporation continues as Lienhard's private investment vehicle focused on vertically integrated alt-protein infrastructure.
